Cautious Optimism

8 Jun

This is the third night in a row we don’t eat. Sure, he still wakes up – but the repeated pacifier+stroking+whispering+covering works. Sure, I spend the same 10 minutes getting him back to sleep – but the hope is that once he realizes he doesn’t really need to eat, he will stop waking up. Just like he stopped waking up in the middle of his naps.

Cautiously optimistic here.

Ahhh I seriously love your posts! My babies are trying to eat every two hours, but it’s way too much at this point (they end up spitting a lot of their meals back up, something the doctor said is a sign that they’re overeating). I am trying the same thing–to get them to realize that they’re not actually hungry. It’s been working with mixed results, but it’s so good to read about someone else doing the same!

Good luck Zygotta! Natalie did the same thing for a week or so and I’d let her fuss for 5 minutes, do a pacifier, then repeat if necessary. She eventually got it and now sleeps straight through uninterrupted until 7 or so (then chats to herself until breakfast at 7:30)! Timothy is so close!
